The Venom from a Russell's Viper

No real change. We're waiting for news from the doctors about how we'll proceed.

I met with a hematologist expert about my blood condition - which was the reason the surgery was put off. He explained the dRVVT (Russell's Viper Venom Test) showed that I have Lupus Anticoagulant. This anomaly (an extra protein in the blood) can cause your blood to clot (thrombosis) abnormally, or to not clot (bleed too much). He thinks perhaps 5% of the population has it.

I've had 2 PTT (partial thromboplastin time) tests which check the current clotting time. One normal and the other not normal. In general the doctor didn't seem too concerned which is good. And I've never noticed any bleeding / clotting abnormalites... and I've had my share of bleeding with bike crashes.

So I had more tests done and the doctors are still reviewing....

Again, thanks so much for your support. I've had a peace about it all that I have to contribute to the Lord.

God Bless
